Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of mappio.io (the "Site"), operated by MAPPiO Global Pty Ltd ("MAPPiO", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these terms.

1. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, the interactive 3D model, page design, layout, source code and the "MAPPiO Schema" — is owned by or licensed to MAPPiO and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The names "MAPPiO®" and "MAPPiO Global", the MAPPiO logo, and the MAPPiO Schema are registered trade marks of MAPPiO Global Pty Ltd. You may view and print pages for your own reference, but you must not copy, reproduce, republish, adapt, distribute or commercially exploit any part of the Site or our methodology without our prior written permission.

2. Your submissions

When you submit an enquiry, scope, boundary or files, you confirm that you are entitled to provide that information and that doing so does not breach any third party's rights. You retain ownership of your own material; you grant us a licence to use it for the purpose of responding to and delivering your enquiry. We handle personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

3. No reliance & professional disclaimer

Information on the Site — including any reference to AS 5488 quality levels, the interactive 3D model and indicative utility depictions — is provided for general information only. It is illustrative and is not a survey, a utility location, or professional, engineering or legal advice, and must not be relied on for design, excavation or safety decisions. The 3D model is a representation, not site-specific data. Before any excavation you must obtain current plans through Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) and engage appropriately qualified professionals. Any advice we provide is delivered only under a separate written engagement.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, or disrupt the Site;
• scrape, data-mine or copy the Site's content, code or design; or
• submit malicious, infringing or misleading material.

5. Third-party links & services

The Site uses and links to third-party services (including mapping, imagery, geocoding, fonts and form delivery providers). We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of those services.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Limitation of liability

The Site is informational only. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAPPiO is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your access to, use of, or reliance on the Site or its content (including the 3D model and any AS 5488 references). Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant content. This does not affect any separate written engagement you may have with us, which sets its own terms.

8. Governing law

MAPPiO operates Australia-wide. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and, where relevant, the State of Victoria (where MAPPiO is based). You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always shown on this page.
